Clearly, true makers are multifaceted
I’ve always had a keen sense of aesthetic and desire for creating beautiful things whether I’m composing elements of a scene for a picture, organizing two-dimensional words and shapes on a page, editing a video, or constructing thoughts into a blog post.
I have a degree in Media, Arts, and Design from James Madison University where I specialized in Digital Video and Cinema Studies and a minor in Studio Art. In the past few years, I've mastered Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and spent several years styling and photographing apparel in a professional studio and extensively processing this product photography for an e-commerce website. In my free time I practice food styling, photography, and writing for my personal blog and, when I am not at my day job, I create macrame wall hangings and other fiber art and put together marketing materials for my own macrame side business, Katie George Macrame
I strive to bring a sense of familiarity and approachability to my work. I use natural light, photograph people candidly in their natural state, let the medium do what it does best without trying to manipulate it, and speak to viewers, through visual or written work, in a casual voice. I am a maker, not a factory, and I want my creations to reflect that and to tell a story of the unique process that went into them.
